Edward Ayub Orthopaedic & Sports
Physical Therapy was founded by husband and wife, Ed and Mary Ayub, in
1982. Ed is the Physical Therapist and
Mary organized the business end of the operation. The objective was to provide exceptional
Orthopaedic physical therapy while paying attention to details in regards to
accounts, scheduling, and patient satisfaction.
Today, just like 20 years ago, Ed and Mary continue to work and develop
what they consider to be the finest physical therapy facilities in San
Diego. Offices are located in Point Loma
and Chula Vista and are staffed by licensed physical therapist and physical
therapy assistants. The professional
staff specializes in a hands-on manual style of physical therapy, which allows a
better opportunity for each therapist to more closely understand and appreciate
each patient’s unique needs.
Treatment sessions are generously scheduled at 45 minutes to
allow for a thorough and complete opportunity to deliver the most precise
treatment approach in order to obtain the best results.
The office staff will assist you from the
beginning to the end with insurance verification, billing, and scheduling related issues to
assure that your experience is as smooth and professional as possible.
In addition to providing “in house” physical therapy
services, Edward Ayub Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy is well known in
the San Diego community for its involvement with team sports. The Chula Vista facility works with the
Sweetwater Union High School District to provide sports medicine services to its
nine high schools. In conjunction with
local physicians, specialists within the facility organize pre-sports
participation screenings, which number around 700 per year. In addition, sports medicine coverage is
assigned to each high school and provides on site service for freshmen, junior
varsity, and varsity high school football games. A Saturday Injury Clinic is available for
injury evaluation and to provide a point of entry into the medical system.
The Bonita
office also functions as a
“central training room” and provides daily injury screening for all athletes of
the Sweetwater Union High School District. The Point Loma facility provides sports medicine services
to the Old Mission Beach Athletic Club’s Rugby teams as well as to the United
States of America Rugby team, the “Eagles”.
For the past fifteen years, Ed Ayub has traveled around the world with
the USA team as team “physician” and has participated in two world cup tours.
Both offices of Edward Ayub Orthopaedic &
Sports Physical Therapy are fully committed to providing the highest level of
quality physical therapy as well as being deeply committed to community
involvement.
Referrals are accepted from physicians, osteopaths,
chiropractors, and dentists, as well as direct referral by nurse case
managers. Conditions commonly seen for
treatment include:
- Extremity and spinal joint strains
and sprains.
- Pre and post operative
rehabilitation following arthroscopic surgery, total joint replacement, or
spine surgery rehabilitation.
